19th Annual Eastern Grace Bible Believers’ Conference

“Ready, Set, Go”

Our theme for 2008 was “Ready, Set, Go” We considered what believers must do to prepare themselves to serve the Lord. We did this by looking at many of the places in Paul’s epistles where he says, “I am . . . “ These “I ams” covered a broad range of topics, ranging from our position in Christ, to our motivation, to our methods. Since we are told to follow Paul, we must strive to make his “I ams”, our own.

I Am Pure –Acts 20:24-27 - Tracy Plessinger – In Paul’s farewell to the Ephesians he speaks of being pure. The context of this statement is very interesting and should serve as a motivation for our service. DOWNLOAD audio

Sunday Messages

I Am Debtor - Romans 1:14 – David Tregembo – Paul realized that he was a debtor to all men. This was one of his great motivations for preaching the gospel. I should motivate us too.  DOWNLOAD audio

I Am Ready – Romans 1:15 – Mark Vogt – No amount of motivation will get the job done if we are not prepared to preach the gospel. Paul had made himself ready and we must make ourselves ready to preach the gospel. DOWNLOAD audio

I Am Not Ashamed – Romans 1:16 – David Greenwood – Fear and shame prevent many from sharing the gospel. Paul had overcome that impediment and could boldly proclaim “I am not ashamed”.  DOWNLOAD  audio

I Am Persuaded – Romans 8:38,39– David Greenwood – As believers we must live our lives boldly with confidence. We must rest in the fact that we are secure in Christ and nothing can remove us from that position. DOWNLOAD audio

I Am Made All Things – I Corinthians 9:19-23 – Dan Gross – Paul adjusted his methods, but not his basic message, depending on his audience. In order to be effective, we must also become all things to all men.  DOWNLOAD audio

I Am Nothing Without Charity – I Corinthains 13:1-3– Shaun Richard – Preaching the truth can be very ineffective if it is done with an improper attitude. We must, like Paul, do all things with charity. DOWNLOAD audio

I Am the Least of the Apostles  – I Corinthians 15:9,10 – Chris Markko – Paul had quite a history before his salvation, including persecuting the Church of God. Many today feel that they cannot be used by the Lord because of their past. This misplaced guilt must be overcome in order to serve the Lord.  DOWNLOAD audio

I Am Weak-I Am Strong – II Corinthians 12:7-10 – Tom Bruscha – Paul realized that his physical weaknesses could make his stronger in Christ. We must also use our afflictions to increase our spiritual strength.  DOWNLOAD audio

I Am Crucified with Christ – Galatians 2:20 – Chris Markko – Understanding who we are in Christ and that He is working in and through us is the most powerful motivation that we can have. DOWNLOAD audio

I Am An Ambassador – Ephesians 6:20– David Tregembo – The focus here will not be on the “bonds” but rather on the fact that Paul was an ambassador. What does it mean to be an ambassador for Christ and how can we fulfill that role? DOWNLOAD audio

I Am Set for Defense – Philippians 1:17– Dan Porath – Regardless of what was going on around him, Paul was always set for the defense of the gospel. How do we, like Paul, contend for the faith without being contentious? DOWNLOAD audio

I Am In a Strait – Philippians 1:23-26 – Dan Gross – At times Paul had a strong desire to leave this world and be with Christ, however he realized that his role in ministry was necessary. We can at times become discouraged in ministry but we must, like Paul, focus on the world’s need rather than our own comfort.  DOWNLOAD audio
