God made a promise to Abraham in Genesis 15:18 ” In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:“
Abraham had a son to Hagar, a son to Sarah, and six sons to Keturah, plus “sons of the concubines”. The offspring of these men have been fighting over who the rightful seed of Abraham is ever since. Islam is based on the idea that the blessing should go to Ishmael, while Judaism and Christianity believe it should go through Isaac. What they are really fighting about began when Sarai told Abram to go in to her handmaid Hagar, and has continued to this day.
