The ark of the covenant was central to the religious life in Israel until the time they were carried away into Babylon. At that time it disappeared, never to be seen again.
Some claim that Jeremiah hid it so that it wouldn’t be carried away with the other temple treasures. Others claim that it somehow made its’ way to a church in Ethiopia.
Even the Ancient Alien people claim that it was made a loudspeaker so that ancient aliens could communicate with people.
