When looking at the five solas of the Reformation, what ultimately became known as Calvinism has missed the mark when it comes to understanding Grace alone.
They believe that God’s grace is irresistible, and that God must draw persons individually according to His election.
Bad doctrine like this always begins when unscriptural words are used to describe scriptural things, such as:
Total Depravity
Unconditional Election
Limited Atonement
Irresistible Grace
Perseverance of the saints
“Irresistible Grace” only becomes necessary because of “Total Depravity,” but neither of these can be found in the Word of God.
