Isaiah 14 records the declaration of war by Lucifer to God when he proclaims: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”
God then put in place a plan to reclaim the earth when he created Adam and Eve and told them to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth. Satan countered by telling them that they could be as gods.
God promised to destroy Satan with the seed of the woman, and Satan attacked the seed by sending his angels to corrupt them.
God countered with a flood that destroyed the corrupted seed. God then promised that the seed would come from Abraham.
Satan again countered. This war continued down through the ages.
