Many Pastors will tell you that being justified means it’s just like you never sinned. This isn’t really true. If it were just as if you’d never sinned, you would still be of Adam.
Being justified is being given the righteousness of Christ in the eyes of God. It is being imputed to you something that doesn’t belong to you – the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; (22) Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe…
All those who believe are given the righteous ness of God through the faith OF Jesus Christ.
If the righteousness of God is necessary for eternal salvation, there is no way it can be worked for or kept by good works.
