Those first 11 chapters of Genesis that were discussed in the previous message also brought about the formation of how societies function for the most part even until today.
First was volition. Volition is not only the freedom to choose, but the responsibility to do so.
Next there was marriage. It was formed as a union between one man and one woman. The oft repeated phrase: ‘What God has joined together, let no man break asunder’ is truly in reference to the institution of marriage much more than individual marriages, and its’ breaking asunder has caused many problems in today’s society.
The third is family, which is a natural outgrowth of marriage. The purpose of family is to have a safe environment to teach children true values.
Finally there is human government. Its’ establishment was to create a safe haven for families to thrive. The fact that there are nations and states with different governments allows for man to choose the environment for their family.
