Three places in scripture God is said to have personally written something down. The most notable is the ten commandments that “”… were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.”
Each time this happened, it concluded the guilt of man.
Writing is how God communicates His words to us. Men wrote down God’s words as it was delivered to them by the Holy Spirit. It is therefore important to notice throughout the New Testament how often the phrase ‘it is written’ is used.
The Holy Spirit in the New Testament is pointing to the veracity of what is being written by often quoting the words of the Old Testament. The Holy Scriptures then, are alone how we learn of God, His plan, and the salvation that is offered through the blood of Christ.
