Palm Sunday is more than just the day in which Christ entered Jerusalem as was prophesied in the Jewish scriptures.
It was a day which should have been anticipated and understood by the nation. The instructions for that day were laid out in Psalms 118.
Even as the multitude cried out: “Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord,” even the disciples didn’t understand what was happening.
This could have been the salvation of the nation Israel, but even as they saluted him as their King on that day, less than a week later they would cry out”: “crucify him, crucify him!”
