The number seven in scripture is very important. It is often identified with completion.
Interestingly, Christ have to have seven characteristics to be Israel’s Messiah. He also had to take seven downward steps to achieve our salvation in him.
We also have to take seven steps up to be saved – yet all of those steps were achieved for us by Christ. The only step we must take is to believe.
Christ took the steps down for us and supplies the step up for us – we only need to trust what he did.
